Leatherworkers
Every season we design a collection of bags from Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger with our leather producers. We coordinate the collection of the various producers well with each other.
We are constantly adding new collections in small editions so that they remain unique and special.
In our leather goods collection we use different types of materials. In this article we would like to tell you more about these raw materials.
Ecologically tanned leather
The base product of our bags is ecologically tanned leather. The leather is ecologically tanned with natural substances such as acacia, tamarind seeds and fatama shrub components, which is better because it is more environmentally friendly and avoids harmful chemicals.
The leather is coloured mainly using natural pigments, for example from plants.
Our leatherworkers select the hides to deliver the best quality for our
collections.
Fani's Face
Faso da Fani is a weaving art from Burkina Faso. Long threads of approximately 20 meters are stretched on a loom. The cloths are then woven by hand on the loom.
Weaving Faso da Fani fabric is an intensive activity that takes a lot of time. By varying the horizontal and vertical threads, nice color effects can be created.
African pan fabric
One of the materials that can also be found in our bags is African panje fabric. This fabric is unavoidable in most African countries and is characterized by its cheerful bright colors.
These fabrics are often used in our bags as an inner lining, for a detail on the outside or to make a soft shopping bag (without leather).
Bogolanfini (Mudcloth)
Bogolan is used for some of our bags. This natural fabric adds a beautiful detail to the bags.

Our leatherworkers
This bag is made by our talented leather workers from Niger. They used the ecologically tanned leather. Unfortunately, we do not have a photo of them yet.

This producer, together with his brother, makes the bags from ecologically tanned leather with Bogolan fabrics.
Bogolan Cotton
This producer makes the Bogolan cotton needed for the bags with Bogolan fabric.
