Foundation & Projects
Behind every Tahoua Import product are people, families, and communities.
Together with various foundations, we support projects that contribute to better living conditions, education, entrepreneurship, and sustainable development for our producers. On this page, you will find initiatives for which we are currently seeking support, as well as stories of projects that have been realized in the past.
Our projects are small-scale, built on good contacts, and we are often on-site to monitor these situations.
Both companies and private donors can contribute and thus make a direct impact in the regions where our products come from.
Project 1:

A weaving centre for women in Nyariga
In the remote village of Nyariga in northern Ghana, we collaborate with a women's cooperative that creates beautiful handwoven baskets. A weaving house is currently being built for this group of women: a place where they can work together, share knowledge, and earn a stable income.
A shared workspace makes a big difference. It provides the women with a safe and practical place to weave, store materials, and better organize their work.
The building is already standing, but to actually use the weaving house, several important steps still need to be taken: a roof, a floor, and doors.
The total cost to complete this project is €6,000. Every contribution – large or small – helps to achieve this goal and make this workspace a reality.
With your support, the women of Nyariga will get a place where they can work together on their future and build a sustainable income for their families.

In the past, we have successfully completed a number of projects. Below you can read more about these completed projects.

Waste bins at our producers' workplaces.
There was a lot of waste at our producers' workplace. There were bins available, but they were of poor quality and often had no bottom. As a result, they did not function well and the working environment became increasingly polluted.
Therefore, new bins have been placed in the workplace, so that all waste can be disposed of in them. This initiative has been received with great joy and the workplaces now look a lot tidier!
