There is nothing better than a delicious, high-quality soap. That is why we also have a very large line of fine soaps and other wellness products.
We would like to tell you more about the special production of Karité soap and about our other wellness products.
Production process of Shea soap
In our collection we have a large assortment of Karitë soap. This soap is made from the nuts of the karité tree. The soaps are popular because of their natural effect and the fact that no chemical ingredients have been added. This means that people with sensitive skin or skin allergies can also use this soap.
Below we explain the production process of Shea soap:

Step 1: Heat ingredients
The nuts are used throughout the
land collected and sold to the soap production groups. Then follows the
hard work of cracking the nuts, grinding them finely and washing and kneading them to make a fatty substance. This fatty and pure shea is now ready to be processed further
become.
The ingredients that go into the soap are heated on a gas stove. This makes the different butters liquid and easier to mix.
The main ingredient of the soap is shea butter. It also contains palm butter and cocoa butter.

Step 2: Beat the ingredients
When the ingredients are heated, they are put together and mixed. The substance is whipped to a thick porridge. Whipping this composition is physically very hard work.

Step 3: Pouring the soaps
When the substance is completely
mixed it goes into measuring cups. This
liquid soap is then poured into the molds.
After this, the soaps have to harden for 4 days in the shade. The result: a nice firm soap!

Step 4: Packing
Once the soaps have hardened sufficiently after 4 days, they are wrapped in a protective layer and a sticker with the ingredients is placed on them.
Once this is done, the soaps are ready to ship.

Step 5: Processing into wellness (gift) packages
When the soaps arrive in the Netherlands, we often process them into nice wellness packages to give as a gift. The soaps are on a hamam dish with a gift bag in which the unused soaps can be stored.

Kandaka soap from Rwanda
In our collection we have a number of premium soaps from Rwanda from the women's cooperative Kandaka.
Kandaka ( meaning: "Strong Woman", title for queens and queen mothers of the ancient African Kingdom of Kush, also known as Nubia and Ethiopia) makes premium soaps from natural and sustainable ingredients.
The profit Kandaka makes is invested in educating girls about menstrual hygiene. These girls also receive a set of washable sanitary towels. This means they don't have to stay home from school during their period. With this soap you make an impact by washing your hands !
